Rapunzel Meets Tim (The iPad Magic Mirror)

A PhotoPass shot from last night at Town Square Theater with a heck of a story behind it. As I got in line for the Princess area, I noticed that I'd gotten a Skype message on my iPad from Tim (*Disromangtaku100) asking if I'd like to Skype with him and his girlfriend Alissa (*missyalissy). I called him right there - and was struck with an idea: If he was on the line while I was meeting the Princesses and the signal held up, Rapunzel, Aurora and Cinderella could talk with Tim and Alissa as well as me.

I managed to get him on the line and explain the plan. As it turns out, Tim had been thinking they could talk to me while I was about to meet Ariel, but I think it didn't hit him - or even me, for that matter - that it raised the possibility that he'd be able to talk to a Princess - or two or three - before his first visit. As a result, both I and especially he were excited and nervous.

Then it came time to meet Rapunzel - and stuff really hit the fan in the coolest way. Rapunzel recognized me and also guessed that I was talking to someone already - and this is what happened:

Me Rapunzel, I'm actually also talking to a friend right now named Tim.
Rapunzel (Nods) Tim.
Me He's never met you, but I know he would offer his services to you and the others at the drop of a hat.
Rapunzel Aw...
Me I actually have him on the line right now if you want to talk to him.
Rapunzel I do.
(After I pass the iPad over, she looks at Tim on the Skype link, waves and smiles.)
Rapunzel Hi, Tim! It's nice to see you! I wish I could show you all my long hair - see all my hair? It keeps going, going...(shows hair for the iPad camera so Tim can see)
Tim You look pretty, Rapunzel!
Me (popping back in so that both Rapunzel and I are on camera) And you thought we were kidding, Tim!
Rapunzel No, we're like BFFs.
Me I'm not sure. I'm not there as much as say, Flynn or Pascal, but that's fine.
Rapunzel (Turning to me) You're still top 3.
Me Oh, come...
Rapunzel You're right after Pascal, right?
Me Top 3? Then you're not putting me in front of them, though, are you? (Indicates Aurora and Cinderella)
Rapunzel Oh, not in front, but you're right there right neck and neck.
Me Oh, come on...you're too kind.
Rapunzel You know what? I bet he would love to see Sleeping Beauty too.
Me I know he would!
Rapunzel (Turning back to Tim) It was nice to see you, Tim. (Blows kiss) Muah!
Tim It's wonderful to see you!
Me (To Tim) Wait...talk to her, talk to her...(puts speaker to Rapunzel's ear) Talk to her, Tim.
Tim It's nice to see you, ma'am!
Rapunzel It was nice to meet you too! (Giggles)
Tim I can't wait to see you!
Rapunzel I can't wait to see you too! (Giggles again)

It didn't stop there, either. Aurora called him Prince Tim and said she believed he was as brave as Prince Phillip, which prompted me to tell her that if there is one thing I know about Tim, it's that he wants to be brave for those counting on him. She was also happy to hear that Tim already has he has a Princess of his own in Alissa. Cinderella then realized what was going on and asked if she could steal me to talk to Tim just as Alissa got to listen in. She was also thrilled to hear about Tim and Alissa and told him she hoped they could meet her and Prince Charming. I then told Cinderella that he'd be delayed since he was delaying his own plans for a summer visit to Orlando to be with Alissa after he found out she couldn't come at that point, but that when he did visit, I didn't doubt he'd be bringing her - and both Cinderella and I agreed that that was very laudable on Tim's part.

For his part, Tim loved the experience - "It's not every day you get to Skype with a Princess!", he exclaimed - and also enjoyed Aurora's new look, revealed he was most nervous about talking to Cinderella, noticed how Rapunzel's mannerisms as a more newly inducted Princess differed from those of Aurora and Cinderella and is already hoping to talk to the characters again through the magic of Skype and the iPad Magic Mirror - with Alissa more involved if possible.
