How Far? - Part 9: Kaytie

The ninth arrangement in this series - How far can your dreams take you? I got the idea after meeting other people here at deviantART who dream of becoming part of the Disney family by winning a full-time or part-time role and have started to find out how far our dreams can take us.

Our latest installment features a young lady who I root for for many reasons. Not only does she want to make the team after has already overcome tragedy when she was little with the help of the Magic, but she wants to make the Magic both while dualizing as a character and as a pediatric nurse.

Name (Deviant Name): Kaytie (~Engaged-and-Underage)
Nationality: United States
Dream Role: Entertainment (Rapunzel, Alice or Belle)
Her Road So Far: Jacksonville, Alabama native Kaytie had a hard life growing up after she suffered many tragedies at a young age. What helped her get through it was the presence of a loving grandmother, who always found time to play Disney dress up and read her Disney stories. As Kaytie says, “I was always right there fighting the Huns with Mulan, being kissed awake by a handsome prince with Aurora and Snow White, dancing in glass slippers with Cinderella, flying on magic carpets with Jasmine, being a guest in an enchanted castle with Belle, falling down rabbit holes, and flying off to Neverland. Disney was my escape and my inspiration. Whenever something bad would happen, my grandmother would get out the chest with all of our Disney props and costumes and proceed to play the beast to my Belle or the evil stepmother to my Cinderella. Because she was beset by hardship at an early age, she found she could always identify with the Princesses—as she says, “(They) taught me to be kind even in my adversity.” As a result, she’s been called a Disney Princess her whole life and she hopes to one day make it official and dualize as the characters who so often inspired her—a dream that she fully set her sights on when she finally visited Disneyland for the first time during her senior year of high school. As she says, ”I felt the emotions of my childhood rush back and realized that my dream is to be a part of the magic on earth that is Disney.”
Fun Fact: Kaytie has done theater and choir her entire life and is also currently a college freshman who is studying nursing to become a pediatric nurse at a children's hospital. As she says, "When I graduate college, I am going to pursue that dream so that I can take the Magic that I receive back with me to my future patients."
